A church planting team was appointed by the Mission Committee of the Presbytery of Ottawa several months ago. Our vision is to plant a new church in Barrhaven.
We want to worship and honour God.
We want to know Jesus Christ and to make him known.
We want to live in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We affirm the church to be a community of people who respond to God’s invitation to discover his love found in Jesus Christ.
We understand that God has revealed who he is in the words of the Old and New Testaments, and, best and most clearly, in the person of Jesus.
Not because we deserve it, but because God is love, we are offered God’s forgiveness, in and through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
We are called to accept God’s love and to live by faith and trust in Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
As a reformed church, we are part of the wider Christian community, both in Barrhaven, and beyond.
We believe God calls the church to love him with all our heart and soul and mind and strength, and to love our neighbour as ourselves.
We believe God calls the church to share the good news that God’s love and forgiveness are to be found in Jesus Christ — and to share this great news in both word and action.
We believe the church is called to minister to the needs of the wholeperson, including the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual.
We believe the church is called to serve in partnership with other Christian congregations locally, nationally, and globally.
